On this memorial site, we remember UFT members who have died and honor their legacy.
In our tributes, we focus on the contributions these UFT members made to their work communities and to our city. We share other aspects of their lives to paint a fuller picture.
We created this memorial website at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. Our UFT family sustained its share of pandemic-related losses — 72 in-service and 78 retired members in all as of June 2022. UFT Honors became a place where we all could go to grieve, to remember and to commemorate colleagues and friends.
As the pandemic tapered off, we realized this website was a place where we could do the same for all our lost members — one place where we could salute members of our UFT family for their hard work and dedication.
NYSUT is also paying tribute to these UFT members in In Memoriam on the NYSUT website.
If you are aware of a UFT member who should be included on the UFT Honors website, please complete this form. If you have a photo of a member we have honored, please send it to uftphotos@gmail.com.
