Raquel Casona was a UFT member for over 40 years. Originally from Cuba, Raquel began her career in education as a school aide and then became a Pupil Accounting Secretary at Julia Richman High School in Manhattan, where she worked until her retirement in March 1994. She was known as a very caring person and loved by all who knew her.
Raquel is survived by her son David Casona, her daughter, Nancy Casona-Castro, and two grandchildren.
