Sylvia Schaum, 87, died on Nov. 12, 2015. She was a 1st grade teacher in District 12 in the Bronx for 26 years before retiring in 1991.
Her last school was CS 77 in the Bronx. Schaum, originally from Pelham Parkway, resided in Connecticut.
She is survived by three children, Barbara Taksel, Kenny Schaum and Nancy Lotrionte; and seven grandchildren.
