Alice Blasso was a UFT member for 30 years and taught special education at PS 122 in Queens. She was known for her compassion and her willingness to speak up for her students. Alice’s passion for education was the same from her first day teaching until her last.
Alice received her Bachelor of Arts from Queens College and her Master’s Degree in Education, Magna Cum Laude, from St. John’s University. She was recognized as Teacher of the Year by the Federation of Parents’ Club, which meant so much to her.
She is survived by her daughter Barbara Blasso Chiamuelera, her sons Richard and Robert, Jr., her son-in-law Aldo Chiamuler, and her grandchildren Francesca and Christopher Chiamulera.
