Knikia Brown-Lord taught at Project Ready in the Bronx.
Brown-Lord was a 10-year veteran of the New York City public schools and started out as a parent coordinator in the Bronx before joining Project Ready, part of the Pathways to Graduation alternative high school program in District 79, five years ago. Brown-Lord is survived by her husband and three children, including an infant son.
